Lamp Incorporated served as Construction Manager for the 5,000 SF comprehensive renovation and expansion of the Cary Park District Briargate Preschool facility in Cary, Illinois. Working in collaboration with Williams Architects and Engineering Resource Associates, the project modernized both the interior and exterior learning environments to better support early childhood education, accessibility, safety, and community engagement.

The project included a complete interior preschool remodel along with significant exterior site and playground improvements. Construction activities encompassed selective demolition, site clearing, earthwork, grading, utility coordination, concrete construction, accessible sidewalks, playground installation, safety surfacing, site furnishings, landscaping, and stormwater-related site enhancements. The improvements transformed the existing facility into a vibrant, child-focused environment that encourages learning, exploration, and outdoor recreation.

A centerpiece of the project was the creation of a new ADA-compliant playground featuring a custom PlayBooster® play system, interactive play panels, climbing elements, slides, swings, shaded play areas, and inclusive recreation opportunities for children of varying ages and abilities. New processed wood fiber safety surfacing was installed throughout the playground to meet ASTM safety standards while providing a durable, accessible play environment.

Exterior improvements also included new concrete walkways and paved connections, decorative concrete curb edging, aggregate base installation, grading, seeding, and landscape restoration. Extensive site enhancements incorporated new trees, shrubs, planting beds, turf establishment, and outdoor amenities such as benches and shade structures to create a welcoming and sustainable campus environment.

Designed with long-term durability and ease of maintenance in mind, the project utilized high-quality materials, reinforced concrete construction, engineered site improvements, and carefully selected landscape elements. The completed facility provides Cary Park District with a modern preschool campus that supports outdoor learning, active play, safety, accessibility, and community use while enhancing the overall experience for students, staff, and families.
