Big Timber Elementary School
Community Unit School District 300 – Big Timber Elementary School
Big Timber Elementary School is an 86,260-square-foot new elementary school located at the intersection of Route 20 and Big Timber Road in Hampshire, Illinois. Built on previously undeveloped land, the project delivers a modern, two-story learning environment designed to support academic excellence, safety, and long-term durability.
The campus includes a thoughtfully planned site with dedicated student drop-off areas, parking, playgrounds, athletic fields, and a naturalized stormwater detention pond. Extensive site grading and infrastructure improvements were completed to support efficient drainage and future growth.
The building features robust structural systems, high-performance materials, and carefully engineered foundations supported by comprehensive geotechnical analysis. Interior spaces include classrooms, a gymnasium that also serves as a storm shelter, and flexible learning and support areas designed to meet current educational standards.
Lamp Incorporated coordinated all phases of construction, managing scheduling, quality control, safety, and collaboration with Dewberry Architects and the District to ensure the project met design intent, budget, and schedule expectations. The result is a durable, safe, and welcoming elementary school that will serve the Hampshire community for generations. (16482)
