2024 DCHS Intercom & EES/LES AOR – Bid Release 3

2024 JHS Chiller, Theatre Renovations & DMS Abatement/FA – BR4

There are five project sites: Hampshire High School (Hampshire, IL), Jacobs High School (Algonquin, IL), Dundee Crown High School (Carpentersville, IL), Dundee Middle School (West Dundee, IL), and Carpentersville Middle School (Carpentersville, IL).

The proposed Chiller Replacement project at Jacobs High School includes replacement of the existing chiller requiring demolition, concrete, general construction, HVAC, and electrical; the Theatre Renovations include concrete, masonry, steel, general construction, and stage rigging; the DMS Abatement/FA includes asbestos abatement for Phase 2 of the Dundee Middle School HVAC Renovations project and Fire Alarm modifications.(16876)

2023 Summer Renovations – Bid Releases 1 & 2

Bid Release 1 – The project includes work at Algonquin Middle School and Westfield Community School. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of the existing 200‑meter asphalt running track at Algonquin Middle School and the removal and replacement of existing flooring in classrooms, teaching spaces, and administrative offices at Westfield Community School. Bid Release 2 – The proposed project involves work at Jacobs High School, Westfield Community School, Sleepy Hollow Elementary School, Eastview Elementary School, and Liberty Elementary School. The scope includes toilet room renovations at Jacobs High School; flooring replacement at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School; intercom replacement at Eastview Elementary School and Liberty Elementary School; and acoustic wall panels and intercom replacement at Westfield Community School. 2021 Summer Renovations – Bid Releases 1 – 3

Locations: Dundee-Crown High School, Hampshire High School, Perry Elementary School, Sleepy Hollow Elementary School, and Buildings & Grounds Office.

Bid Release 1 (Early Interior Renovations) – This bid release focused on early-phase interior renovation work to prepare select school facilities for subsequent construction. The scope included selective demolition, floor preparation, and installation of new resilient and carpet flooring systems. Work was carefully phased to maintain safety and limit disruption within occupied buildings.

Improvements included removing existing finishes, installing self-leveling underlayment, installing updated resilient flooring and entry carpet tile, and associated preparation and patching. This release established a clean, durable base for future renovations while improving the wear resistance of interior surfaces and long-term performance. (16540)

Bid Release 2 (Interior Renovations & Asbestos Abatement)

Bid Release 2 expanded the renovation effort with a comprehensive scope of interior upgrades across multiple schools, including asbestos abatement performed under a separate but coordinated package. The renovation scope included selective demolition, extensive flooring replacements, new gypsum board partitions and ceilings, fire-resistive joint systems, through-penetration firestopping, acoustical ceilings, resilient base, and interior painting. Specialized flooring systems such as static-control resilient flooring and resinous flooring were installed in select areas to meet programmatic and durability requirements.

Careful coordination was required to maintain tight schedules, protect existing building elements, and complete work during the limited summer construction window, all while meeting strict quality and safety standards. (16539)

Bid Release 3 (Specialized Systems & Final Interior Improvements)

Bid Release 3 completed the summer renovation program with specialized interior systems and finish work. This phase included commissioning coordination, technology, and low-voltage infrastructure, as well as final flooring and finish packages required to support school operations and long-term functionality.

Work included completing flooring systems and specialty interiors, and coordinating building systems to ensure facilities were fully operational at the start of the academic year. This final bid release emphasized performance verification, system integration, and close collaboration among trades to deliver a fully complete, ready-for-occupancy facility. (16541)
