Fairhaven School Renovations
Special Education District of Lake County – Fairhaven School Renovations
The Fairhaven School Renovations for the Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL) in Mundelein, Illinois, comprised delivering comprehensive infrastructure upgrades to an existing 42,000‑square‑foot educational facility.
The project consisted of interior renovations and a complete mechanical retrofit to modernize building systems throughout the existing Fairhaven School. The scope of work included mechanical equipment replacement, supporting plumbing and electrical upgrades, installation of a new fire alarm system, and a major reconfiguration of the parking lots to improve accessibility, traffic flow, and overall site safety.
A key component of the renovation was the pre‑purchase and coordinated installation of new self‑contained unit ventilators, enhancing indoor air quality, energy efficiency, and classroom comfort through modern digital controls. All work was carefully phased and coordinated to protect existing infrastructure while meeting stringent public‑school life‑safety and performance requirements.
Working in close collaboration with Wold Architects and Engineers, Lamp managed bidding, scheduling, trade coordination, and submittals while ensuring compliance with Illinois prevailing wage requirements and district standards. The completed project upgraded critical building systems, improved campus circulation, and positioned the Fairhaven School for long‑term reliability and functionality in support of SEDOL’s educational mission.
