Village of Hampshire New Public Works Facility
Hampshire, Illinois
Lamp Incorporated served as Construction Manager for the new Village of Hampshire Public Works Facility, a modern municipal operations campus designed to enhance service delivery, fleet maintenance capabilities, equipment storage, and staff support functions for the growing community. The approximately 33,400-square-foot facility includes administrative offices, employee support areas, fleet maintenance and repair bays, vehicle storage, workshop space, and specialized operational support areas under one roof.
The project is strategically designed to improve efficiency for public works operations while providing a durable, high-performance facility capable of supporting municipal services for decades to come. The building utilizes precast concrete wall panels, structural steel framing, mezzanine storage areas, advanced mechanical and electrical systems, fire protection, security, and technology infrastructure tailored to the needs of a modern public works department.
Beyond the main facility, the development includes significant site improvements, including a 2,600-ton salt storage dome, material storage bins, hot-dry storage areas, fleet circulation routes, utility infrastructure, stormwater management systems, site lighting, landscaping, and heavy-duty paving designed for municipal trucks and equipment.
Located along Town Place Road in Hampshire, the new campus provides the Village with a centralized, efficient, and resilient operations center that supports roadway maintenance, snow and ice control, utility services, and community infrastructure maintenance. The facility is designed to improve workflow, enhance employee safety, and optimize equipment maintenance and storage while meeting the long-term operational needs of the Village. (16848)
