The program included replacing critical HVAC infrastructure, such as air-handling units at the DuPage County Care Center, and central plant improvements, alongside a wide range of interior renovation projects. These included the third-floor Community Intake remodel, designed to improve public access, workflow efficiency, and service delivery, as well as administrative office and board room rehabilitation projects that modernized key County functions.

Additional scopes incorporated security and controlled access upgrades, enhancing building safety and circulation, along with exterior improvements, including building access enhancements and infrastructure upgrades. Across multiple project packages, the work involved architectural reconfiguration, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system upgrades, technology integration, and facility-wide system coordination, supporting long-term reliability and performance.

These improvements were delivered through multiple bid packages, requiring close coordination among trades, consultants, and County stakeholders. A defining aspect of the program was execution within a fully occupied, high-traffic government campus, where public access, staff operations, and security-sensitive functions were maintained at all times.

Lamp implemented a highly detailed, phased construction approach, incorporating controlled work zones, temporary enclosures, off-hours scheduling, and evolving logistics strategies to minimize disruption. Work was carefully coordinated with County departments, facilities personnel, security teams, and end users, ensuring continuity of operations in spaces serving the public, administrative staff, and critical County functions.

Upon completion, the DuPage County Facilities Improvements Program delivered modernized, efficient, and secure facilities, improving system performance, enhancing user experience, and supporting the County’s ability to provide reliable, high-quality public services.
