Parkview Elementary School Addition & Renovation (2026)
Parkview Elementary School Addition & Renovation
Community Unit School District 300 | Carpentersville, Illinois
Lamp Incorporated served as Construction Manager for the multi-phase Parkview Elementary School Addition & Renovation project for Community Unit School District 300. The project includes construction of a more than 17,000-square-foot building addition, extensive site improvements, interior renovations, and significant mechanical system upgrades designed to enhance the learning environment while supporting the district’s long-term educational goals and future growth.
The addition expands and modernizes the campus with new classrooms, specialized instructional and support spaces, a media center, cafeteria improvements, student services areas, and a flexible multipurpose space designed to accommodate a variety of educational and student activities. The project enhances safety, accessibility, functionality, and overall campus operations while creating spaces that support evolving educational needs.
A key feature of the project is the creation of a new outdoor learning courtyard that encourages collaboration, exploration, and hands-on learning. The courtyard incorporates interactive educational elements, gathering spaces, and carefully planned sightlines that support both student engagement and supervision. Additional site improvements include enhanced student pick-up and drop-off circulation, parking improvements, playground enhancements, landscaping upgrades, stormwater detention improvements, and improved pedestrian connectivity throughout the campus.
The project also includes a comprehensive modernization of building systems, featuring new HVAC infrastructure, upgraded air-handling equipment, hydronic systems, building automation controls, and associated mechanical improvements designed to enhance indoor air quality, energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and long-term building performance.
Construction is occurring while the school remains operational, requiring extensive planning, coordination, and communication among District 300 staff, project stakeholders, and trade partners. The project is being completed in multiple phases, with the new addition opening for the 2026 school year and interior renovation phases continuing during the summer of 2027.
As renovations continue through the final phases of work, the project will further modernize instructional spaces, improve building systems, and create an enhanced educational environment that supports students, educators, and families for years to come.
